Carrabelle, FL is a quaint fishing town in the Florida panhandle that provides endless fishing opportunities. The Carrabelle River flows into the Gulf and holds Redfish and Speckled Sea Trout as well as several other species of fish. Fishing the inshore waters outside the river mouth will yield nice catches of Trout and Bull Reds with the occasional Grouper, Sheepshead, Sea Bass and more. When the weather cooperates, and one can safely fish the near shore waters of the Gulf (out to 9 miles offshore) the sky is the limit as to what to expect. Numbers of Snapper, Grouper, Sea Bass, Grunts and more will bend the rod plenty. All rods, reels, bait and tackle are included and Johnnie will make the best decision based on the season and the weather to provide the best fishing possible.
If the weather allows, the most fishing action is near shore. Grouper, Snapper, Sea Bass and Grunts dominate the catch, but the possibilities are almost endless. Bottom fishing with live and dead bait is the norm, but chumming up fish is an exciting possibility. For inshore fishing, expect the bite to be a bit slower but the fish of a lifetime is a distinct possibility. The winter months do not have the numbers of fish as the summer, but the size is incredible. Bull Reds up to 40 inches happen fairly regularly and there is always the chance to get into a school of Speckled Trout. Light tackle makes this an incredible fishing experience. If the weather keep us closer to home, the Carrabelle River can provide enough action to keep you from watching tv. Red Fish, Trout, Sheepshead and more spend their time in the river all winter. The fishing can be challenging yet rewarding as many techniques and baits will all be used in one day.
All bait, tackle, rods and reels are provided. No charges for bait or gas.
